Sermon November 4, 2007

Pastor Augustine Kim challenges us to live our lives in the perspective of being a citizen of heaven in a simple message based on Philippians 4:1-7. He takes us beyond having a saving faith in Jesus Christ to a real relationship with God that enables us to have the desire to please Him.

Why Do we Praise God?

Psalm 117 states, “Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.” Pastor Robin Gosal uncovers the great meaning that lies within this short psalm. We praise the Lord because we know Him, and we extol the Lord because we have experienced Him.

Be Perfect Christians!

We all want to be perfect, don’t we? In Matthew 5:48, Jesus even calls us to be perfect because our heavenly Father is perfect, but we cannot forget that we are humans and that perfection is not a stage of reality in this life. Instead perfection is a goal, but don’t let the burden of perfectionism weigh you down. In his message, Pastor Timothy Chang reminds us that Jesus, who was perfect, died for our imperfections and thus we are perfect through Jesus Christ.
